The planet in the background is okay. Wanted to experiment with using coloring pencils, but after finishing it, felt it would have been far better had I used fineliner. Not a fan of Sass's face either (this was just before before I attempted to seriously learn gesture and face drawing).</image:caption>

The clouds, I like. The sky gradient's nice; shouldn't have added the sun. Could be better. Practicing Imagination Drawing - Architecture is weak point though Bridge could be better, off feeling about it. 7/24/2026 Note: I like the position of the sun now, but the top half of the water stream I felt could have been much better; I was thinking that maybe the water was being filtered of the chemicals stemming from the forest via the bridge.</image:caption>

It's very strange. 6/28/2026 - Extremely bright... can't see much or look much.. sun reflections everywhere 6/30/2026 5:51 P.M. - Really hard to differentiate between the three trees. i felt also like my shading/ sketch look cartoonish. That Franklin Booth study was useful, though the sky could be better. The road rocks... you can do a lot with one color... Decent. Update I had absolutely no understanding of 3D space when I did this sketch Original Text [2-24-2023] I tried... definetly not as good as Sketch #1. I should learn more about 3D. Was going to read Chicago Plan (Great Depression economic policy book), but charger plug [for Surface Pro 7] was out of reach, and battery's almost dead. Quick Sketch, could be much better. <image:caption>Dubious Depths Zone v2 10-14-2023 Completed early Jan 2024 Note [7-24-2026]: This drawing was based on concept art of an unused zone from the platformer Sonic the Hedgehog CD, which I found very pretty. The drawing is meant to a little mysterious, having elements from the unused zone (streams flowing from dark, stone architecture), and elements from the bad future of Palmtree Panic (the game's first zone), namely robotic trees, pipes going throughout the background of the landscape, and water completely contaminated with industrial waste. Sonic the Hedgehog CD Notes: Good Future = Mix of nature and technology, vibrant and lively colors throughout the zone. Present = Colors vary with the intent of producing a modern feel; Potential for technology to produce harmony, but also danger of letting technology sap the vitality of the environment if uncontrolled. Bad Future = Technology used by Dr. Robotnik to completely exhaust the landscape for his mechanical concoctions. Environment is extremely rusty and dangerous, and the music's mood is one of hopelessness; of being either too late or neglectful to prevent Dr. Robotnik from pillaging the land for all of it's resources.</image:caption>

Pretty decent; had to do more with the side/back walls since it was a plain sandstone texture (using black/gray mechanical pencil, so not good). Will study ornamentation more. 7-24-2026 Note: Phantasy Star IV is a space opera turn-based role playing game from 1993. The planet Alys and Chaz (the protagonist of the story) lives is called Motavia, a desert planet their ancestors migrated after the explosion of the planet Palma a millennium prior to the events of Phantasy Star IV.
