[Reference] Phantasy Star IV - Alys' Room [6-19-2025] Sketchbook: Phantasy Star IV - Alys' Room 6/19/2025 - 3:27 A.M. Pretty decent; had to do more with the side/back walls since it was a plain sandstone texture (using black/gray mechanical pencil, so not good). Will study ornamentation more. 7-24-2026 Note: Phantasy Star IV is a space opera turn-based role playing game from 1993. The planet Alys and Chaz (the protagonist of the story) lives is called Motavia, a desert planet their ancestors migrated after the explosion of the planet Palma a millennium prior to the events of Phantasy Star IV. P.S. - A year after I completed the game [5/28/2025], and it's still the best single player game I have ever played (so far).
[Reference] Ornamental Practice Drawing [8-10-2025] Sketchbook: 7-24-2026 Note: Wanted to practice drawing a lot of ornamental detail, and decided to draw this reference because of its ornate lamps, chairs, mirrors, lamps, and tables. Took over a month to complete this reference.
[Reference] Sketchbook: 5:33 - 5/27/25 Desert Zone - NieR: Automata (Video Game Alright; hair and back of clothing could have been better) 7-24-2026 Note: I believe this was my first attempt attempting to draw humans (in the case of the reference, humanoid) in any form; Humans (at this point in time) were a massive weak spot in my drawing.
[Reference] Automobile Reference [7-1-2025] Sketchbook: Automobiles; Tricky, but will get the hang of it 7/1/2025 - 5:03 P.M. Retro Car #1, Not too Bad, need to practice more vehicles; also want to do more imagination sketching, like 5/31/2025 drawing.
[Phantasy Star IV Inspired] General Drawing [10-18-2025] Idea - Woman standing on top of rock with sword; city in the distance Maybe i'll develop my style...it's fun 10/18/2025 PSIV inspired... a little lol 7/24/2026 Note: Japanese Phantasy Star IV Game Covert art was the clear inspiration; To be honest, im shocked at my progress (as of 7/24/2026) in just over 9 months after finishing this piece. I was proud of this when I finished it, but looking back, it seems amateurish.
[Observational Sketch #1] Stuyvesant Square Park [7-19-2025] Sketchbook: 3:42 P.M. 7/19/2025 Stuyvesant Square Park Okay... better than first time 7/24/2025 My first observation sketch, just over one year ago; It has completely transformed the way I see and do art, namely the techniques I have learned as a result from drawing from life.
[Non-Reference] Gem Jail [11-6-2025] Sketchbook: Idea: Woman looking upwards (either gemmy/grimy) in a cell contemplating, looking for an escape path (Original Idea). Even the pale hue was orange...couldn't find anything lighter for the face...It's okay, some errors 3:43 P.M. 11/6/2025 7/26/2026 Note: Another Phantasy Star IV inspired piece, this time of Rykros, the hidden fourth planet. Whereas the atmosphere of Rykros is cold and ominous (using mainly oceanic colors such as light aqua, pink, and sandy yellow), I opted more for warmer colors (cheery red, sunny orange, and brick burgundy).
[Non-Reference] Escaping to Dijon (Justine and the Misfortunes of Virtue) Sketchbook: Escapting to Dijon (page 158) - Justine/ Misfortunes of Virtue 2:53 A.M. 12/6/2025 Like a painting. 7/6/2026 Justine and the Misfortunes of Virtue by Sade is a (pretty raunchy) French Revolution Novel where Justine, a beautiful blonde haired woman, has her faith in God tested by the unfortunate reality of having every single act of kindness she performes be returned by ruthless (and often violent) exploitation of her, and the people she cares dearly.
[Non Reference] Nature Drawing [5-31-2025] Sketchbook: Imagination Practice 5-31-2025 12:26 A.M. Dirt better than expected OKAY... Too Flat (referring to the trees in the background at the time). Depth could be better.... Meh. 7-24-2026 Note: I do think that there is a lack of depth throughout the drawing.
[NieR Automata #2 - Reference] Race Against a Robot [6-10-2025] Sketchbook: Robot speaking to robots 2B (left) and 9S (right): Zounds, you're fast! Although not Fast fast, if you know what I mean. Only real problem was left rock (+ 9S much better drawn than first time doing desert) Decent! 11:18 P.M. NieR: Automata #2

[Central Park Meetup #4] Museum of the City of New York #1 [9-27-2025] Sketchbook: City of the Museum of NY Get into painting (advice I got after sharing my sketches with the group) 9/27/25 Took longer than usual...
[Central Park Meetup #3] - Central Park Statue [9-13-2025] Humans are my weak point; wouldn't start improving (somewhat) until spring of 2026.
Vehicle Reference [3-28-2025] Reflections could be better... Alright
Tudor City Greens #1 [8-2-2025] Sketchbook: Upside Down............ Oops 8/2/2025 Tudor City Greens #1 7-24-26 Note: My first actual meetup of the Central Park Sketching & Art Meetup Group [https://www.meetup.com/sketching/]. I wanted to come to the meeting on July 19th, but I arrived too late (after 2:00 P.M.) , and it was drizzling afterwards for roughly an hour. I completed this between 2:00 - 3:15 (roughly)
Train Reference [5-24-2025] Sketchbook: 5-24-2025 - 9:40 P.M. Could be better... mainly the interior
Japanese House Reference [2-20-2025] My first real drawing (non-book exercises) in over a year. I decided to continue pursuing drawing after being incredibly surprised that the sketch turned out better than I possibly expected after not doing any real drawing in over one year.
